sitting around the kitchen table, we have discovered many new things about south african, american, japanese, and canadian culture and how they are the same or different. did you know:
- toyota is the most popular car company in south africa
- in japan, they keep squirrels as pets
- satsuma is like a purple potato (my yams caused some confusion)
- the card game 'president' or 'janitor' is a drinking game in america, but the word for it in japanese means 'richest man'
- you can't find marmite at the roche brothers grocery store, but rooibus tea is everywhere
- some people in america put ketchup on top of their pizza (maybe this is just the one we were talking to...)
- nobody knows what i'm talking about when i say touque
...hopefully there are many more of these to come!

"in japan, they keep squirrels as pets"
That is weird. They can have the squirrels in my yard that eat all my seedlings in the spring!
"some people in america put ketchup on top of their pizza"
Definitely just the one you were talking to. I have never seen anyone do that
"nobody knows what i'm talking about when i say touque"
